The Mediterranean Institute for Advanced Studies (MEDIFAS) was established in 2007 to promote interdisciplinary research and development in the engineering and economic sciences in co-operation between universities and other research establishments located around the Mediterranean Sea, and also with others all around the world. It seeks to bring about a collegial dialogue and to further collaborative research by maintaining a number of Fellowship schemes, by arranging Seminars, and by developing interdisciplinary Research Topics around which interactions with the research communities involved are deepened. Since its foundation, several scholars from different countries have decided to participate in the Institute's activities.
Housed in the Primorska Technology Park immediately on the borderline between Slovenia and Italy
and close to the Gulf of Trieste (click here for a map),
the Institute is adjacent to many centers of current research and education activities and only twenty minutes away from the
Aeroporto Friuli Venezia Giulia - Ronchi dei Legionari Airport.
